Zero Stray Academy was founded in September 2021 under the umbrella of Zero Stray Pawject. Zero Stray Academy’s mission is to educate municipalities about stray prevention and stray management of companion animals with the goal to achieve zero strays. Municipalities are taught how less strays contribute to a better economic impact, how a shift towards enforcing  responsible pet ownership and preventing owned pets from being abandoned and overproduced can prevent future strays. And how current strays can be best managed using humane TNR and sheltering approaches to ensure the best welfare for stray companion animals.  The academy also offer the first mandatory training for front line police officers about stray reduction and animal protection as part of the memorandum of cooperation signed between Zero Stray Pawject and the Hellenic Police.  The academy started offering seminars to the judicial about the link of animal abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, sexual  abuse, terrorism and organized crime and  why prosecuting animal abuse will prevent  serious harm on humans.
